Roseville House

Renovation of a Federation-era villa on Sydney’s north shore.

A GARDEN VILLA

The existing house is a generously-proportioned villa in one of Roseville’s conservation areas. The proposed design untangles a series of unsightly additions to the house, streamlining the floor plan and making an extension that complements the elegant Edwardian proportions of the original building.

MODERN DETAILS, TRADITIONAL FORMS

A double height living space opens to a rejuvenated garden. The living and kitchen floor level is lowered to match the garden, connecting the indoors directly to the outside. Upstairs bedrooms are protected from the sun by external blinds.
